It looks like Jake succeeds as Recom Quaritch’s body floats to the bottom of the flooded wreckage. And that’s a good thing, too, as it turns out Recom Quaritch isn’t so dead after all.Īs the RDA ship sinks, Jake and Recom Quaritch fight tooth and tail trying to slay the other. It’s not until the very end of Avatar: The Way of Water – after losing his eldest son Neteyam in battle with the RDA – that Jake vows to stop running and stand his ground against the RDA.

The end battle sees Recom Quaritch’s team slain and the RDA ship sinking as Jake, Neytiri, Neteyam, and Spider all do to their part to free Lo’ak, Tuk, and Kiri. With his Metkayina allies and wife and son as support – and with a big assist from the sentient whale-life creature called Payakan – Jake avoids certain death and turns the tables on the RDA. Unfortunately, Recom Quaritch and his team eventually track them down and take Lo’ak, Tuk, Kiri, and Spider hostage aboard an RDA sea vessel, using them as bait to lure Jake to them. Their kids squabble and brawl, there’s a redemption arc for a whale who the ne’er-do-well Lo’ak befriends, and there’s also a whole lot of gorgeous underwater sequences as the Sullys adapt to life with the Metkayina and the way of water. The Sullys leave their forest-dwelling Omatikaya clan and seek refuge among the seafaring Metkayina clan. Jake believes if he stays and fights the RDA that it will only bring death and ruin to the Na’vi since it’s him the Sky People are after. Quaritch and resents his father for what he did to the Na’vi.

Spider, as it turns out, is the son of the late Col. Aided by a team of other special forces recoms, Recom Quaritch decides the most ruthlessly efficient way to smoke out the elusive Jake is to target his Na’vi family: wife Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) and their children Neteyam (James Flatters), Lo’ak (Britain Dalton), Tuk (Trinity Jo-Li Bliss) and adopted teenage daughter, Kiri (Sigourney Weaver).Īlso caught up in Quaritch’s campaign against Jake is Jack Champion’s “Spider,” a human adolescent and friend of the Sully kids, who was left behind on Pandora as a baby when the humans fled. Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), who’s back from the dead as a recombinant (recom), an avatar who possesses Quaritch’s implanted memories and his same hellbent desire to kill Jake. Jake is targeted by the forces of the RDA – in particular, Col. This makes him Public Enemy Number One to the Resources Development Administration (RDA), which seeks to colonize Pandora because the Earth is fast becoming uninhabitable. Jake leads the Na’vi resistance, fighting a guerrilla campaign against the Sky People utilizing the very military tactics he learned as a Marine. (We learn that humans are hunting the tulkun, Pandora's whale-like species whose brain fluids stop the human aging process.) Once again, former human-turned-Na’vi warrior Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) takes up arms against his former comrades-in-arms but this time he has his own family to protect.
TOOTH AND TAIL SECRET ENDING FULL
I really hope that maybe a DLC might answer some questions like this.Avatar: The Way of Water Ending ExplainedĪfter a years-long absence, “The Sky People” (aka Earthlings) return to Pandora with full military might to plunder its natural resources for their own gain. How did so many pigs go unnoticed by the 4 factions when there was a distinct shortage of meat?

Why did the pigs betray the Civilized after there is a whole mission dedicated to protecting them? What happened to the leaders of each faction? Not to mention there are a lot of un answered questions such as: Kinda dissapointing, I was kinda hoping that depending on which faction wins the 4 way fight you get a specific ending. After working for 3 days straight grinding out these missions for each faction even though I only really care for 2 of em. I love this game, but im not gonna lie the ending was very dissatisfying.
